  5. The sound is head and shoulders above any of my Blue Note or Concord Jazz releases on vinyl or disc. My copy is vinyl. I have another live album of Blakey in Sweden recorded by Kavi Alexander of Water Lily Acoustics fame that pales next to this (and he is a great engineer). And the tunes and perfomances are first class all the way.
  6. The vinyl is super quiet and the music – I don't think I've ever heard jazz like this before. I guess I'm used to the "typical jazz sound" so it was a treat to listen to something different. Plus it's cool to know I'm listening to rehearsals before a TV show. Thanks for this great LP!

  8. Jazz Summit Mastered from the Original Tapes by Ryan K. Smith at Sterling Sound. This Analogue Productions g vinyl reissue is a magnificent-sounding recording of a historic TV event. For a rare and glorious one-hour nationwide broadcast, CBS brought together 32 towering heavyweight jazz musicians of the swing era for the jam session to end all jam sessions.
